『New Watch』RICHARD MILLE Launches RM 65-01 McLaren W1 Automatic Chronograph: Inspired by the McLaren W1 Supercar
RICHARD MILLE unveils its fourth collaboration with British supercar manufacturer McLaren – the "RM 65-01 McLaren W1". Inspired by McLaren's latest W1 supercar, the bezel is the first to use both Carbon TPT® carbon fiber and Grade 5 titanium alloy, and cleverly incorporates racing color elements such as orange, yellow, and blue, resulting in a striking and speed-oriented style.
The tonneau-shaped case design is inspired by the elegant lines of the McLaren W1 sports car, featuring a "convex inside, concave outside" contour that manifests on the watch as a concave "double-layer" bezel. The upper layer of the double-layer bezel is made of Carbon TPT® carbon fiber, with each case having a unique texture, while the lower layer is made of polished Grade 5 titanium metal material, with the thinnest part measuring only 0.5mm. The chronograph functions pushers are made of Carbon TPT carbon fiber, with a titanium crown covered in orange rubber to enhance the tactile feel.
The skeleton titanium metal dial is inspired by the wheel pattern of the W1 supercar, with color accents reminiscent of a supercar's instrument panel—yellow for the hour, minute, and small seconds hands at 6 o'clock; orange for the 30-minute and 12-hour counters; and blue for the chronograph seconds ring. A vertical digital date window is located at 11 o'clock on the dial.
Equipped with RMAC4 automatic winding movement, it has a power reserve of 60 hours. The base plate and bridge of this movement are made of Grade 5 titanium alloy material, and the timing accuracy reaches 1/10 of a second.
The rubber strap is available in black and orange, with a streamlined pattern inspired by the aerodynamic design of the W1's hood openings.
