The movement inside This reference is built with either calibre. The choice changes the price, the rate and the reserve — nothing else about the watch.
| Base | Seiko NH35 or Miyota 8215, automatic | Swiss clone of the maison's own calibre |
|---|---|---|
| Rate | ±15 to 25 seconds a day | ±5 to 10 seconds a day |
| Reserve | About 40 hours | 55 to 70 hours |
| Balance | 21,600 A/h · six beats a second | 28,800 A/h · eight beats a second |
| Servicing | Any watchmaker can service it; parts are everywhere | Serviced by a specialist; finished as the original is |
| Suited to | Wearing daily, keeping simply, spending less | Matching the reference exactly, and glass casebacks |
The Swiss movement is $50 more. That figure buys the rate, the reserve and a movement that reads correctly through a glass back — not a different watch.
Which we would take. If it is to be worn every day and serviced down the road from you, the Japanese is the honest answer. If it has to survive a loupe against the reference — or the caseback is glass and the movement is meant to be seen — take the Swiss.
The exact base calibre for this reference is confirmed in writing, with the QC film, before anything is dispatched. The two movements, explained

Description
The American Alligator leather version of the Ballon Bleu collection men's model 42mm mechanical watch from the American brand has arrived. It features an SW300 movement. The size of the men's and women's models determines that their movements are different; the men's model has a higher-end mechanical movement and includes a calendar. So, market descriptions claiming it's equipped with a 2671 movement are really laughable. 🤭
While mechanical watches are considered high-end compared to Quartz watches, many people don't understand them well. Therefore, due to operational or general knowledge issues, mechanical watches may present more problems compared to Quartz models. Furthermore, their profit margins are lower than Quartz watches, making them a less desirable option.
However, many people still prefer mechanical watches. This is the difference between a practical item and a work of art. Quartz watches and smartwatches are, frankly speaking, practical items. Although these watches, produced through mechanized mass production or modern assembly lines, are all called watches, they are actually "clearly distinct" and even "vastly different" from works of art.
We've sold a lot of Quartz Ballon Bleu shoes, and I'm sure everyone knows our quality. You can wear them to boutiques without any worries. Even if you just need to adjust the strap length at a boutique, sales assistants who have seen boutique products for a long time won't be able to tell the difference. So you can wear them with complete peace of mind!
Here are some things to note about mechanical watches:
This Cartier automatic watch is powered by the wearer's arm movements, so manual winding is unnecessary under normal wear. Manual adjustment may be required only when the wearer's activity level is insufficient to provide enough energy to the mainspring. This is a common misconception among those unfamiliar with mechanical watches, who may mistakenly believe there's something wrong with the watch. Additionally, to prevent moisture from seeping into the case and to maintain the watch's water resistance, please ensure the crown is locked after adjustment. It's also important to note that water-resistant watches only offer everyday water resistance; they may not be resistant to hot water. You can research this further. It comes with the highest-quality packaging available on the market, comparable to the original packaging, making it a presentable gift!
