The movement inside This reference is built with either calibre. The choice changes the price, the rate and the reserve — nothing else about the watch.
| Base | Seiko NH35 or Miyota 8215, automatic | Swiss clone of the maison's own calibre |
|---|---|---|
| Rate | ±15 to 25 seconds a day | ±5 to 10 seconds a day |
| Reserve | About 40 hours | 55 to 70 hours |
| Balance | 21,600 A/h · six beats a second | 28,800 A/h · eight beats a second |
| Servicing | Any watchmaker can service it; parts are everywhere | Serviced by a specialist; finished as the original is |
| Suited to | Wearing daily, keeping simply, spending less | Matching the reference exactly, and glass casebacks |
The Swiss movement is $50 more. That figure buys the rate, the reserve and a movement that reads correctly through a glass back — not a different watch.
Which we would take. If it is to be worn every day and serviced down the road from you, the Japanese is the honest answer. If it has to survive a loupe against the reference — or the caseback is glass and the movement is meant to be seen — take the Swiss.
The exact base calibre for this reference is confirmed in writing, with the QC film, before anything is dispatched. The two movements, explained
- QC film before ship
- 2-year warranty
- Discreet insured express
Add to cart, enter your ship-to details, then pay with crypto — or message the desk. Either way you get a QC film of this piece: reply GL to ship or RL for another. Japanese +$50 · Swiss +$100.

Description
Blancpain classic collection, a legendary milestone.
HR's watchmaking prowess is beyond question. This function watch comes from Blancpain's classic collection. As one of the three traditional complicated functions in the watchmaking world, its appearance is another milestone legend in the watchmaking industry.
The 40mm diameter stainless steel case and double bezel design are a hallmark of Blancpain's classic design.
The dial features four function subdials that display the date, day of the week, month, and moon phase functions. The small dials are arranged in an orderly manner, inheriting the brand's signature dial layout for traditional complicated function watches.
The unique skeleton leaf-shaped hands are an aesthetic hallmark of the Blancpain Villeret classic collection, unforgettable at first glance. The skeleton leaf hands are crafted with extreme intricacy and are entirely handmade. The skeleton parts of the hour and minute hands are created through a cutting process, requiring meticulous precision and years of experience to achieve a single, perfect cut; the slightest mistake can ruin the entire piece. After cutting, they are glued to a special support, and each piece is individually sanded and polished.
Supporting the watch's complex functions is a powerful "core". HR has successfully reproduced all the functions of the Blancpain Cal.5954 automatic winding movement, and has also ensured its stability.
For mechanical timepieces, the ability to judge and identify complex calendars through ingenious mechanical structures is a huge challenge for watchmakers.
HR has put in a lot of effort to develop and recreate the classic Blancpain experience. Stay tuned!
